Highland House Calls
Serving Flagstaff Since 1998
We will be closed October 9-10.

Welcome!
Dr William Kurmes was born and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona. After graduating from Flagstaff High School he received his bachelor's degree from Northern Arizona University before attending Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine. He graduated from CSU in 1993 then headed to Chino Valley where he worked for almost five years before returning to Flagstaff and starting Highland House Calls in 1998.
Dr Kurmes' wife Melanie works as the practice manager for their clinic. She was also born and raised in Flagstaff. Their pride and joy are their two daughters and their families. Dr Kurmes and Melanie can often be found hiking, doing one of their many hobbies or playing chuck-it with their dog Jemmy.

Nicole has been our assistant since 2018. She is a NAU alumni and very passionate about helping animals. Nicole has given a lot of her time to local shelters and rescued two heelers, Mac and Skye. When she is not working, Nicole enjoys camping and hiking with her family as well as making handmade dog treats for her small business, Woof 66 Treats.
